Dr. Joseph Palumbo enjoys using his comprehensive range of clinical skills to help patients achieve the bright beautiful smiles they’ve always wanted. He treats his patients on a personal, caring basis, giving them comfort and satisfaction with their results.
Dr. Palumbo received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook before earning his doctorate degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1997. After completing an advanced education in General Dentistry from Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn NY, he and Dr. Yousuf formed East Lyme Family & Cosmetic Dentistry in 2000.
Dr. Palumbo also holds a fellowship certification in dental implants from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). He has advanced training in cosmetic dentistry and smile makeovers from the Rosenthal Institute of Aesthetic Dentistry in New York City.
Dr. Palumbo’s other affiliations include Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), CEREC Doctors Assoc., American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS), and the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped (NFDH).
Dr. Palumbo resides in Old Saybrook with his wife and four children.
Dr. Yousuf graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Science. He received his Doctorate Degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1997. Dr. Yousuf furthered his study by obtaining a degree of Advanced Education in General Dentistry from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia in 1998. In 2005, Dr. Yousuf was awarded a fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, where he demonstrated an exceptional interest in the advancement of Implant Dentistry. In 2006, Dr. Yousuf completed advanced training in cosmetic and smile makeover dentistry under the supervision of acclaimed cosmetic dentist, Dr. Larry Rosenthal in New York City.
Dr. Yousuf has been in private practice in Norwich, CT since 1998, and East Lyme, CT since 2000. He is an active member of the New London County Dental Society, Connecticut State Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and International Association of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. In his time away from the practice and study of Dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his three daughters, hiking, cooking, and golfing.
Dr. Bottaro earned his DMD degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 1982. He was elected President of the Manchester Dental Society in 1992. From 2000 to 2007, he was also an elected member of the CT State Dental Association Board of Governors. Since graduating in 1982, he has been an active member of the Connecticut State Dental Society and participates in 40 to 50 hours of continuing education per year provided by programs such as the CT State Dental Association. Between 1990 and present day, he has also been appointed to various committees of the CT State Dental Association; including committees for budget, infection control, peer review, annual meetings and the building committee.
In 2005, the ICOI honored Dr. Bottaro with fellowship, as well the second-place award for his presentation at the winter meeting of that year. The ICOI awarded him again in 2010 with Diplomat status as he was acting as an Associate Clinical Professor at the UCONN Dental School. Dr. Bottaro’s peers have continuously recognized his contributions in the field of dentistry by voting him as “Top Dentist” in Hartford Magazine for 15 consecutive years.
